Mix 1 cup flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Add water until you have a lump-free batter the consistency of pancake batter.

You will need thick paper (we used watercolor paper) that fits in your microwave.

With 3 kids, I used 3 cups. There’s enough to divide into 4 as well. Put a Ziploc bag into each cup and divide batter evenly. Add food coloring as desired.

Zip the bags closed and let the kids gently mix the color in. Then snip off a tiny corner, and let them paint. Keep lines thin and use thick paper.

When you are done, microwave the picture. How long depends on your microwave and how thick the paint lines are. It will dry up and look a bit like cooked pancake.
