You need a hot, sunny day for this one. The challenge is to make an oven you can set out in the sun.

Materials: box/cardboard, tape, foil, you can throw in some plastic wrap, or use those throw-away plastic containers.

Lesson: Talk about heat of the sun, reflection, etc. and let them have at the design. They can give it a name and brand it too. (They put their dad’s black Crocs near, to help absorb heat near their ovens.)

When done, bake!

  1. Make s’mores.
  2. Put cupcake papers in it with some old crayon bits to melt into one round weird crayon.
  3. Make a mold with Play-doh and fill with crayon bits
